Hi :) I'm Brenda and I'm glad you stopped by.
I found so much inspiration on the web through other people's blogs that I decided to make my own and hopefully inspire others as well.
Why did I call it SpiceRain? Well... my dog's name is Spice, and I live where it rains... A LOT. So as I was trying to think of a name I looked around and saw Spice, and rain.
I've only been into furniture rehab for about a year. I love refinished antique furniture like dry sinks & old buffets. And logo covered anything. But furniture like that is pricey and not in my budget. So I decided to pick up a sander & a paintbrush and do it myself.
I haunt thrift stores, garage sales and Craig's list. My first rule about furniture is that it has to be cheap, or free. My second rule is that it has to have a purpose. I have an average size home, so now if I bring something in, something else has to go out.
This past year I've been into streamlining my home. Not quite a minimalist lifestyle, but clutter makes me frantic and I really don't collect things, so my focus is on making my surroundings tidy, easy to clean, and organized. The less time I spend cleaning or looking for things, then the more time I have to play in the wood shop.
For a career I'm a dog groomer. It's fun to see the before /after transformations on them as well so I included a slide show page for a few of those. Besides furniture rehab, I'm into crochet, photography, crows, horses, dogs, writing, baking and gardening. In fact... I have more hobbies than I have time.
I hope you enjoy your visit, and that you come back often to see what else I'm up to.
this website/blog is always evolving and changing
thanks for the visit - hope you come back soon.
